CAN YOU GO 24 HOURS WITHOUT AN EXCUSE?
For just one day, stop blaming, explaining, or justifying. See what changes in your life, relationships, and leadership.
Just one day. That’s it.
ONE HONEST DAY
Excuses show up everywhere.
I didn’t have time.
I forgot.
That’s just how I am.
They dropped the ball.
Something came up.
I'm just not good at confrontation.
I meant to get to it.
There was traffic.
It wasn't the right time to start.
Nobody cares what I have to say.
If I only had X, I could do Y.
I'm only doing my job.
It's not my job.
For one day, you stop using them.
No blaming. No explaining your way out. No justifying. Just ownership.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1
Start your 24 hours. Take The Challenge.
Step 2
Watch for excuses. Blaming, explaining, delaying, or justifying.
For 24 hours, when faced with a decision or deadline, pause and write down any excuses you thought of or used in the past, along with your feelings.
Step 3
Replace the excuse with ownership.
Examples:
“I didn’t have time” → “It wasn’t a priority.”
“I forgot” → “I failed to plan.”
Step 4
At the end of the day review your notes to identify how you feel and whether you were able to avoid excuses in certain situations but not in others.
Ask yourself:
Do I want to do this again tomorrow?
ARE YOU ALL IN? WANT A REMINDER TOMORROW?
DO THE CHALLENGE WITH A FRIEND OR TEAM MATE
It’s easier to see someone else’s excuses than your own.
Invite a friend, coworker, or spouse. Watch for each other’s excuses.
